At Momenta Lab, we perform open, novel research at the intersection of mathematics, statistics, and other fields. We also strive to create powerful and intuitive software that serves a clear, helpful purpose. The world can't be saved with an offering from a tech company but it can be improved with open collaboration and a dedication to using technology for good.
Science is a fundamental requirement for the progress of our species. Our mission is to bridge the gap between cutting-edge research and practical applications, making complex knowledge accessible to everyone. Our work currently centers on making research easier to explore and organize, as well as conducting and disseminating research in easily digestible ways.
Persimmon, our first offering on the Apple App Store, aims to make it easy to explore academic research. By using language models to summarizing research content to different levels of experience, it allows users to read and interact with academic articles and papers with a greater understanding.
Persimmon enables interactive exploration of research published to arXiv, with support for more preprint servers and a web version in development.
We have self-published research on Active Galactic Nuclei (AGN) black hole mass estimation with the help of artificial neural networks - one of the many possible and previous-unexplored applications of machine-learning (ML) in the domain of physics.
We have plans to further this research by including other types of architectures and gauging their efficacy against traditional measurement techniques, along with the application of ML techniques to related problems in cosmology.
